    While our congregation largely draws from the Battle Lake area, we have summer visitors from as far away as Texas; Oklahoma, Washington State, Nebraska, Iowa, the Fargo-Moorhead area, and across Minnesota.

    History

    Founded in 1883

    First Baptist Church in Battle Lake is Otter Tail County's most recent addition to the National Register of Historic Places. Its building is the best example of Gothic Revival style in Battle Lake. Organized in 1883, members met in a log building, the original village schoolhouse; it was the only church in Battle Lake where services were conducted in English. The congregation met on May 1, 1893 and decided to build a new church. The new church was dedicated on Sunday, December 10, 1893: the very one  we worship in today.
